Description

Inter Pipeline is seeking a safety-focused and motivated Operations Technician, Electrical to support operations in the Bonnyville District based in the LaCorey office. 


Reporting to the Supervisor, Pipeline Field Operations, the Operations Technician, Electrical plays a vital role in maintaining safe, reliable operations of field assets, supporting capital projects, and ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. You’ll work closely with a small, dedicated team and partner with multiple departments to share insights and drive improvements and efficiencies. Key Activities and Responsibilities

•    Perform preventative maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance (CM), troubleshooting, and repairs in accordance with manufacturer and company standards
•    Represents IPL professionally when interacting with landowners, communities, producers, regulators, and internal stakeholders
•    Utilize company systems such as SAP, Maximo, and other applicable software
•    Support senior team members in coordinating work and tracking costs for AFE projects
•    Conduct frequent site visits across the Bonnyville District and other IPL locations as required
•    Maintain assets in safe, reliable operating conditions
•    Ensure high standards of housekeeping at all sites
•    Perform routine measurement activities, including sampling, in compliance with company and industry standards
•    Prioritize daily work activities based on assigned work orders and operational needs
•    Communicate urgent issues (safety, reliability, stakeholder concerns, measurement) to supervisors promptly
•    Support completion of project deficiency lists
•    Assist with execution and support of capital projects as assigned
•    Ensure all work meets applicable codes, regulations, and the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC)
•    Mentor apprentices, coworkers, and contractors while promoting IPL safety practices and quality standards
•    Maintain a high standard of workmanship aligned with IPL procedures and safety expectations
•    Execute assigned projects in line with budget, schedule, and quality requirements
•    Operate a company-owned ¾-ton commercial truck regularly on or between field sites and in accordance with the needs of the business.

Education, Skills and Experience

•    3-5 years pipeline or related oilfield experience
•    High school diploma or equivalent
•    Electrical trade certification  
•    Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 driver’s license
•    Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
•    Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and initiative
•    Teamwork, trusting and collaborating with others
•    Honesty and Integrity, being ethical, accountable, respectful, and inclusive
•    Excellent communication with the ability to represent IPL professionally

Hours


Monday-Thursday or Tuesday- Friday 4x10 hour shift 


Participation in on-call rotation required 


As a condition of employment, commute to work must be safe, lawful and not to exceed approximately 45 minutes of total travel time to or from the LaCorey office location. 
As this position is identified as safety and security sensitive, employment of a final candidate will be conditional upon completion of pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol, drivers abstract, and criminal background check assessments with satisfactory results. As this position requires the operation of commercial vehicles, the final candidate must medically qualify for the operation of commercial vehicles as part of the pre-employment assessment.
