Description
Located out of our Calgary office, the Advisor, NGL Commercial Development role will focus on the commercial development of new growth opportunities within IPL’s Facilities Infrastructure Business Unit by supporting the identification, valuation, and risk management of said opportunities from inception through to contract execution and eventual commissioning. The Advisor will work closely in a team alongside an Analyst and under direction and guidance of a Specialist to achieve extraordinary outcomes.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
- Support the identification of potential commercial growth opportunities including asset optimization, new or repurposed infrastructure, new service offerings and new commercial frameworks.
- Liaise collaboratively with internal and external cross-functional stakeholders to support the development of opportunities, including operations, engineering, legal, regulatory, government/indigenous relations, accounting, finance and others.
- Support the development and oversight of economic models and financial valuations as they apply to various opportunities.
- Develop creative, concise and impactful investment presentation materials for consumption by entry level staff, field operations, through to executives.
- Maintain strong relationships within the NGL and midstream industry and provide stewardship to key customers and partners.
- Continually monitor market developments as well as peer and competitor activities while identifying opportunities related to the NGL business.
- Support the facilitation of the seamless integration of new projects into IPL’s internal commercial processes and systems.
- Support the development of commercial frameworks and conduct/support effective negotiations with customers and partners.
Education, Skills and Experience
- Completion of a university degree in Business, Economics or Engineering
- 3+ years of Commercial Development, Business Development, or Commercial Operations in the midstream or energy infrastructure sector
- Well-developed presentation, communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated success and experience in negotiation
- Experience in interpretation and communication of financial and business analysis to support business decisions; financial modelling experience considered an asset
- Effective organizational skills including attention to detail and ability to work independently
Hours
Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week
As this position is identified as security sensitive, employment of a final candidate will be conditional upon completion of a criminal background check assessments with satisfactory results.
