We are seeking an Interim Advisor, NGL Commercial in the Facilities Infrastructure Business Unit to join our team in our Calgary office, reporting to the Manager, NGL Facilities Commercial Operations. In this role you will proactively manage and optimize  highly complex, multi-million-dollar commercial operating and sales agreements related to our NGL extraction and fractionation facilities The Advisor will manage day to day commercial activities, including coordinating with operations, managing logistics and executing optimization opportunities within existing agreements related to our Cochrane Extraction Plant and Bow Valley Carbon assets.  The successful candidate will lead interactions with external counterparties, ensuring that agreement terms are being applied correctly and that the company’s best interests are served, working with 3rd party pipeline operators to ensure egress is maximized, and developing and executing on value driving optimization opportunities. The role is located in our Calgary office and will collaborate with teammates in Commercial Operations to achieve extraordinary outcomes.

 

This is an interim position for an 18 month term

Key Activities and Responsibilities

•    Manage terms and conditions of various commercial agreements that relate to IPL’s NGL assets
•    Negotiate new, supplemental and/or amending agreements to existing agreements
•    Work effectively and with pace in collaboration with legal, operations, technical services, marketing, accounting, project development and commercial development as well as external counterparts
•    Identify and implement opportunities and projects to commercially optimize NGL assets
•    Develop solutions to complex commercial issues and advance IPL’s commercial strategy vis-à-vis the operating agreements 
•    Assist in the annual budget process for the NGL business unit
•    Review and approve complex monthly invoices, create monthly production and sales forecasts.
•    Special projects as requested

Education, Skills and Experience

•    University degree, preferably business related (economics, accounting, finance, marketing, engineering)
•    2+ years of Commercial Development, Business Development, or Commercial Operations in the midstream or energy infrastructure sector
•    Experience managing commercial and operating agreements 
•    Motivated individual with effective organizational skills including attention to detail and ability to work independently
•    Excellent communication skills, including written and PowerPoint presentations, and ability to effectively interact with various internal and external stakeholders

Hours

Monday – Friday 8 hours/day


As this position is identified as security sensitive, employment of a final candidate will be conditional upon completion of a criminal background check assessment with satisfactory results.
