Description
Located in Calgary, the individual in the Manager, Commercial Operations role will report to Director, Supply and Commercial Operations.
We are looking for a seasoned leader to head our Commercial Operations Team. This role will ensure smooth collaboration with plant Operations, manage supply flows, and uphold outage schedules. The role includes overseeing commercial agreements, driving optimization initiatives, and ensuring accurate reporting. Strong relationship-building, proactive communication, and critical thinking are key as well as strategic direction and stakeholder engagement.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
- Lead Commercial Operations Team, providing direction and support to reports
- Lead liaison with plant Operations personnel, resolving issues that arise and ensuring contractual obligations are met
- Oversee various flows and supply to the plant, with consideration to commercial arrangements and other activities in the area; work to resolve any supply constraints or potential disruptions
- Uphold outage schedules; keep all stakeholders abreast of external planned and unplanned outages impacting the plants; collaborate to determine optimal path forward
- Manage existing commercial and operating agreements, and execute any amendments required
- Lead and facilitate external communication requirements while following internal protocols
- Oversee budget and forecast submissions, ensuring alignment with other business units
- Conduct monthly analysis and reporting on pricing and operating metrics
- Lead and support execution of optimization and revenue-generating/cost saving initiatives
- Develop and enhance processes for data collection and analysis, tracking, and organization of information
- Develop recommendations for sound decision-making based on analysis conducted
- Create compelling presentation and reporting materials for Management and Executives
- Ensure proactive communication with leaders and stakeholders, keeping them informed on issues, progress, and status
- Develop and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Responsible for hiring and training, and ensuring sufficient back-up measures are in place
- Actively take on/lead ad-hoc projects through to completion
Education, Skills and Experience:
- University Degree in Engineering required
- Oil and Gas experience required
- 15+ years of previous experience, including 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong Commercial and Operations acumen

Location and schedule:
The position is Calgary based, office work 5 days a week, 40 h per week.
As this position is identified as security sensitive, employment of a final candidate will be conditional upon completion of pre-employment criminal background check assessments with satisfactory results.
