Description

Positioned in the Facilities Infrastructure Business Unit, the individual in the Manager, Commercial Operations role will report to the GM, NGL Commercial. The successful candidate is keen to join a collaborative and dynamic organization and has demonstrated experience in balancing strategic thinking with hands-on commercial execution. We are looking for a seasoned leader who is highly organized, commercially minded, willing to dig in and coach the Commercial Operations team.  This role will ensure active collaboration with facility Operations, drive optimization opportunities and lead the team in intentional engagement with business partners and customers.  The role responsibilities include oversight and solid understanding in managing complex commercial agreements, accurate reporting and business analysis.

 

As leadership in to team members and stakeholder engagement is key, the successful candidate will have strong relationship-building, proactive communication, and critical thinking skills. 

Key Activities and Responsibilities

•    Develop and maintain a solid understanding of the Facilities Infrastructure business, to champion commercial operations; develop and execute strategies that drive revenue and efficiency through administration and commercialization of agreements
•    Be a resource for team members and collaborative team player, willing to dig in as a thought partner to solve problems, improve processes and identify optimization opportunities
•    Lead collaboration and liaison with Operations, ensuring contractual obligations are met, issues are resolved, and value is maximized
•    Maintain and improve relationships with key stakeholders, including customers and business partners
•    Manage and prioritize team tasks, ensuring deadlines and targets are met
•    Identify and execute on opportunities to optimize processes and improve commercial outcomes
•    Be a partner in commercial development to assess new opportunities within existing customer base
•    Develop and present strategic recommendation based on critical thinking and analytics
•    Optimize team workflows; be an advocate for team members
•    Actively manage and develop direct reports, ensuring timeline feedback and guidance
•    Oversee documentation, reporting, and budget submissions, to ensure cross-functional alignment within the Facilities Business Unit and support decision-making
•    Ensure proactive communication with key stakeholders and senior leadership
•    Stay abreast of industry activity and trends; actively communicate to senior management

Education, Skills and Experience

•    University Degree
•    15+ years of industry experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role
•    Team player with strong leadership skills
•    Experience in negotiations and management of commercial agreements
•    Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively; strong organization, prioritization and organization skills
•    Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
•    Thrives in a fast-paced environment
•    Strong design to learn and share knowledge

Hours

The position is Calgary based, in-office 5 days a week.

 

As this position is identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate will be conditional upon completion of pre-employment criminal background check assessment with satisfactory results.
