Description
Located at the Inter Pipeline Calgary corporate office, the Contract Project Engineer, will be part of a dynamic team responsible for the development and execution of Integrity related Inter Pipeline Ltd. (IPL) projects, with a focus on supporting the Pipeline Integrity Dig program.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
• Complete high-level cost estimating, project development, project reporting and construction efforts of operations and integrity projects within IPL’s Transportation business unit
• Execute pipeline integrity projects to assess and mitigate threats to pipeline integrity.
• Preparation of project stage gate packages for IPL management
• Ensure effective communication and coordination between all disciplines and project participants including all IPL stakeholders
• Coordinate the review of designs, drawings, and specifications with internal and external parties
• Participate in design reviews and hazard assessments to ensure the design addresses all safety, environmental, regulatory, asset integrity and operational requirements
• Coordinate engineering work performed by internal and third-party resources
• Monitor and report on the progress of the project
• Create and update project schedules and forecasts throughout the project life cycle
Education, Skills and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent
• Currently registered with APEGA
• Possesses a sound understanding of the operation and maintenance of pipelines, preferably in Integrity In-Line Inspection and Integrity Dig projects
• 4-10 years relevant experience
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop key relationships with ease
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Effective time management, organizational skills, and attention to details
• Ability to take initiative and work effectively both independently and in team settings
• Firm understanding of and ability to apply engineering principles
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Hours
Full time, Monday-Friday
This opportunity is a contract estimated to last one year
Employment of a final candidate will be conditional upon completion of pre-employment credential verification and criminal background check assessment with satisfactory results.
