Description
Located in our Calgary downtown office, the Scheduling Analyst is a key individual contributor within the Commercial Operations team, supporting the safe, compliant, and optimized operation of Inter Pipelines (IPL) pipeline systems. This role combines analytical depth, commercial understanding, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure quality performance, throughput accuracy, and commercial compliance.
You will provide insights that directly influence daily operational decisions and long‑term strategic planning—helping to maintain data integrity, regulatory compliance, and system performance.

Key Activities and Responsibilities
• Monitor daily crude quality performance to ensure compliance with IPL Rules & Regulations and operating specifications.
• Investigate and resolve quality exceptions, collaborating with Scheduling, Measurement, and Field Operations teams.
• Analyze quality datasets to identify trends, anomalies, risks, and optimization opportunities.
• Provide system throughput trend analysis, identifying patterns, anomalies, bottlenecks, and operational drivers.
• Produce system throughput reports, including narrative analysis for leadership visibility.
• Develop and enhance dashboards and reports that provide performance insights and support data‑driven decision‑making.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders—Schedulers, Commercial, Field Ops, Engineering, Measurement, Marketing, and Control Centre—to align insights with operational needs
• Support continuous improvement, enhancing tools, documentation, data quality, and reporting efficiency while contributing to system upgrades and testing.
• Support a broad range of commercial compliance activities, including maintaining analytical tools, validating commercial data, performing reconciliations and reviews, and ensuring overall accuracy and alignment with commercial requirements
Education, Skills and Experience
• University degree or diploma in Business, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in scheduling, measurement, data analytics, pipeline operations, commercial operations, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to interpret and explain complex quality and throughput datasets.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast paced, deadline driven environment with high attention to detail.
• Experience with dashboarding or analytics tools (e.g., Power BI) is an asset.
• Working understanding of crude quality specifications, pipeline logistics, crude markets or operational measurement processes is preferred.
• Ability to collaborate across teams, communicate insights clearly, and support data driven operational decision making.
