Senior Analyst, Marketing Finance

Located out of our Calgary Head office office, the Senior Analyst, Marketing Finance will report to the Senior Manager, Marketing Finance. The successful candidate will support Inter Pipeline’s Marketing department.

This key role will specialize in forecasting and budgeting. You will be responsible for coordinating accurate financial results, analyzing financial data, and assisting in the preparation of annual budgets. You will collaborate with various departments to gather relevant information and provide insights to support strategic decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of financial principles. 

Key Activities and Responsibilities

•    Coordinate and lead accurate financial forecasts and maintain models to forecast revenue, expenses and cash flow
•    Analyze, review and update forecasts based on market trends, operational metrics and actual performance and changes in market conditions 
•    Assist in annual budget coordination, preparation and variance analysis, providing insights and recommendations 
•    Collaborate cross-functionally to help align budgets with strategic goals
•    Communicate financial forecasts, budgetary updates, and analysis results effectively to stakeholders at all levels 

Education, Skills and Experience

•    Bachelor’s Degree - Finance, Accounting, Economics; Master’s Degree or professional certification (i.e. CFA, CPA, CBV) is a plus
•    5+ years’ experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting
•    Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and familiarity with financial software (i.e. SAP)
•    Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and budgeting processes
•    Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and draw meaningful conclusions
•    Effective communication skills with the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly and concisely
•    Detail-oriented with commitment to accuracy and precision
•    Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively 

Hours

Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week 

As this position is identified as security sensitive, employment of a final candidate will be conditional upon completion of a criminal background check assessment with satisfactory results.
