Description
Inter Pipeline is looking for a seasoned, accuracy‑driven Senior Project Controls Analyst to support our Pipeline Projects team within the Transportation Business Unit (TBU). This role is central to maintaining financial integrity, enabling reliable forecasting, and ensuring disciplined execution across a portfolio of pipeline integrity programs and small engineering initiatives that support safe, efficient operations.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the safety, reliability, and long‑term integrity of critical pipeline infrastructure. You’ll work alongside engineering, project management, integrity, and finance professionals who value precision, transparency, and continuous improvement. Your expertise will help guide projects from concept to completion—strengthening our asset base and supporting the delivery of safe, efficient operations across the Transportation Business Unit.
Based out of the Calgary downtown office, the Senior Project Controls Analyst will report to the Supervisor, Projects Controls.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
• Deliver end‑to‑end project controls oversight—planning through closeout—ensuring scope, schedule, cost, and change management remain fully aligned.
• Monitor incurred costs and produce accurate, defensible accruals across all phases of execution.
• Manage the full lifecycle of AFEs, including memo review, supplemental funding processes, and formal closeout.
• Conduct detailed variance analysis against budgets and forecasts to support proactive, transparent financial oversight.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Program Managers, Integrity Leads, and Finance to maintain consistent and high‑quality financial reporting.
• Track schedule and budget performance and prepare insights for internal stakeholders and leadership.
• Use EcoSys and SAP to support reliable forecasting, cost tracking, and performance reporting.
• Provide scalable project controls support to annual integrity programs (e.g., digs, ILI, and repair initiatives) as well as small engineering programs, ensuring strong governance across multiple simultaneous workstreams.
Education, Skills and Experience
• 10+ years of progressive experience in project controls, cost management, or related functions—ideally in operating, construction, or energy infrastructure environments.
• High proficiency in EcoSys and SAP, with proven ability to produce accurate financial documentation.
• Exceptional attention to detail, with a strong commitment to data integrity and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines within a dynamic project environment.
• Strong understanding of forecasting techniques, cost‑tracking methodologies, and performance metrics.
• Clear, confident communication skills and a collaborative, team‑oriented approach.
• Analytical thinking and a solutions‑focused mindset for navigating complex and evolving project conditions.
