Description
The Senior Scheduler, Trucking is an experienced individual contributor responsible for applying extensive knowledge in managing and analyzing complex logistics and supply chain issues, improving or adapting methods and techniques, and ensuring efficient transportation and delivery process.
The position will provide guidance and review the work of junior team members and oversee large projects or processes with oversight from the manager. The incumbent must be able to explain facts, practices, and policies to internal stakeholders across IPL. This role works closely with traders, operations, and third-party service providers to ensure timely and accurate execution of physical transactions.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
Scheduling & Coordination
• Develop and oversee scheduling strategies for daily Crude and NGL truck movements using BAMSS and maintain tracking files for C4/C5 products.
• Optimize logistics coordination from wellhead to facilities and manage delivery locations, maintaining regular communication with vendors.
• Partner with Crude and NGL Traders to ensure economical routing and optimize supply chain efficiently.
• Ensure financial accuracy by reconciling truck tickets for lifted and delivered volumes, verifying invoices and assisting with accruals.
Monitoring & Analysis
• Leverage SCADA data to monitor batch movements and C4 injection rates, proactively identifying blending risks and advising the CCO on corrective actions.
• Analyze system performance trends including daily flow rates for C4, bullet tankage levels, and ROF bullet levels proactively providing updates and reporting outages.
• Evaluate logistic metrics such as wait times, route rates, and fuel surcharges recommending strategies and process improvements to strengthen supply chain resilience.
Contract & Vendor Management
• Lead negotiation of trucking contracts maintaining strong and strategic vendor relationships.
• Coordinate trucking from wellhead with producers and internal teams.
Reporting & Compliance
• Ensure financial integrity by compiling and analyzing data for accruals and actuals, verifying invoices and providing insights to support accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain accurate transaction records of truck tickets and add to daily butane files ensuring compliance and enabling informed operational and commercial decisions.
Collaboration & Support
• Partner with field operations on ad-hoc tasks including outages, integrity work, and operational changes.
• Identify and implement process improvements and growth initiatives.
• Provide guidance and coaching to junior team members.
• Manage large scale scheduling projects and optimization initiatives.
Education, Skills and Experience
• 7+ years of experience in logistics, scheduling, or supply chain operations.
• Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and optimize processes.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and modeling techniques.
• Experience with SCADA systems and scheduling tools (e.g., BAMSS).
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to manage large projects.
• Strong communication skills to explain practices and policies to internal stakeholders, as well as to build relationships with external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated initiative and adaptability to manage processes independently while supporting trading operations.
Hours
Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
