Description
Located out of our Cochrane Extraction Plant, this position will report to the Senior Lab Technician, and will be responsible for general laboratory assistance in the regular sampling, monitoring, and analyzing of various product streams at the plant.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
• Daily sampling (NGL, LoCat and cooling water)
• Weekly sampling (Gas, cooling water, RO water, etc.)
• Monthly sampling (Cooling water, LoCat solution, etc.)
• Quarterly sampling (Cooling water, etc.)
• Regular surface runoff pond monitoring, sampling as required.
• Weekly river checks
• Assisting with lab filing and reporting
• Lab project work, as required
• Assisting operations department, as required
Education, Skills and Experience
• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program and has, at minimum, completed the first year of the program.
• Physically fit and able to perform sampling.
• The candidate must have a strong work ethic, be self motivated, dependable, and punctual.
• Must possess a positive attitude and a strong commitment to learning.
• Safety conscious and compliance with plant procedures is essential.
Hours
Full time temporary anticipated to start early May 2026 until late August 2026
As this position is identified as safety and security sensitive, employment of a final candidate will be conditional upon completion of pre-employment medical, drug/alcohol, employment verification and criminal background check assessments with satisfactory results.
