Description

Based out of the Kindersley Saskatchewan office, the Operations Technician Mechanical will report to the Supervisor, Pipeline Field Operations. The successful candidate will join a small tight-knit Operations team who oversees and services operations and maintenance for pipelines and assets in the Saskatchewan district. The area consists of Marengo, Hoosier, Smiley, Dodsland and Kerrobert and all block valves, delivery points and piping in-between. 

 

Key Activities and Responsibilities:   
•    Conduct PM’s, CM’s, troubleshooting and repairs as assigned on work orders to manufacturer’s specifications as a minimum.
•    Maintain assets in a safe, reliable operating condition.
•    Set up and oversee a maintenance schedule for district equipment and assets.
•    Stay current with equipment changes and advancements.
•    Housekeeping - we believe in keeping the sites we’re responsible for looking as if they were brand new. Responsibility to clean up and take pride in the way our facilities look.
•    Measurement - meter proving, third party witnessing and ticketing. 
•    Site Inspections 
•    Line locating and Crossing Inspections 
•    Active member of the Emergency Response team
•    Assist with, or manage pigging activities as needed or assigned
 

Education, Skills and Experience

•    Certified Millwright or Heavy Duty Mechanic required 
•    5 years of related experience 
•    Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent troubleshooting abilities with a strong work ethic 
•    Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork 
•    Proven ability to work safely and follow procedures 
•    Computers skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office skills (Outlook and Excel), knowledge of Maximo an asset. 

 

Hours
Full-time- regular 9-hour workdays, with every other Friday off

Relocation assistance may be offered  

This position will participate in an on-call rotation approx. once every six weeks
Travel between sites daily, with possibility of helping other districts from time to time.

As this position is identified as safety and/or security sensitive, employment of a final candidate will be conditional upon completion of pre-employment medical, drug/alcohol, drivers abstract, and criminal background check assessments with satisfactory results.
