Description

Based out of the Sherwood Park office, the Warehouse Technician plays a key role in supporting Pipeline Operations by managing all goods and materials requirements. Reporting to the Supervisor, SCM, the Warehouse Technician serves as the primary point of contact for inventory and warehouse operations.

 

You will work closely with Inter Pipeline cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders to ensure materials are handled safely, efficiently, and on time while helping keep our operations running smoothly and reliably.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

•    Physical and electronic receipt and issuance of material
•    Stage material for reservations
•    Maintain accurate records and update inventory information as required using SAP, Excel, Word and other Microsoft applications
•    Focus on continuous improvement and compliance with Inter Pipeline’s policies, processes and procedures
•    Identification of cost savings and avoidance opportunities
•    Identification and management of material overages, shortages and damages (OSD)
•    Management of inbound and outbound transportation
•    Management of obsolete material 
•    Safely operate material handling equipment in compliance with relevant regulations
•    Perform daily equipment checks on material handling equipment related to the warehouse
•    Creation of purchase requisitions for goods and repairs, including coordination with applicable parties
•    Support audit requirements
•    Understand and apply basic storage and preservation requirements

Education, Skills and Experience

•    3 years experience in a professional warehouse environment, with a strong understanding of inventory control and material handling
•    High School Diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in Supply Chain or Warehouse Management is an asset
•    Proven ability to safely operate forklifts; certification is an asset 
•    Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and adherence to safety standards, policies, processes, and procedures
•    Knowledge of safe handling practices for hazardous goods and materials
•    Strong computer proficiency, with experience in Materials Management ERP systems- SAP for goods movement transactions, inventory tracking, and label generation 
•    Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
•    Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and sound judgment skills
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to interact with diverse stakeholders

Hours

Monday- Friday full-time 

12 month term 

 

As this position is identified as safety and security sensitive, employment of a final candidate will be conditional upon completion of pre-employment medical, drug/alcohol, drivers license and abstract, employment verification and criminal background check assessments with satisfactory results.
