Description
The Stettler Inter Pipeline team has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated Student to join the Operations team for the summer of ’26!
The Operations team is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Inter Pipeline (“IPL”) assets, including pipelines, booster stations, lease automatic custody transfer units and various other assets. The Student will be accountable to assist the team with the safe, reliable, compliant, cost-effective operation, maintenance, and reliability of the pipeline assets in a manner that aligns with our goals and objectives.

The Summer Student, Field Operator, is a front-line field role working alongside experienced colleagues growing skills in a safe, respectful and trusted team environment.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
• Ensure that behavior aligns with IPL’s Core Values and demonstrate them in day-to-day activities.
• Promote a culture of incident prevention and Environment, Health and Safety (“EH&S”) excellence by serving as a role model and adhering to our EH&S Policy, Values and Commitments
• Ensure EH&S incidents and near misses are reported and participate in the investigation with the aim to correct systems to prevent further incidents
• Participate in community investment opportunities, giving back to our community through volunteering.
• Network building, build relationships with internal stakeholders and learn more about essential functions of a pipeline business
• Contribute to the development and implementation of pipeline system operations strategies and initiatives.
• Ensure company policies are adhered to and actively support environmental stewardship.
• Assist and provide support to district employees
• Maintain good housekeeping and groundskeeping at sites
• Actively participate in Monthly Safety and Daily Tailgate meetings
• Data entry and filing of truck unload tickets.
• Ensure month end procedures are completed and deadlines are met
• Verify and code all office and district related invoices and assist with cost tracking for the district (SAP support).
• Operate a company-owned ½ or ¾-ton commercial truck regularly on or between field sites and in accordance with the needs of the business. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while performing transportation duties.
Education, Skills and Experience
• Enrolled in an accredited post-secondary program with a keen interest in learning more about the energy transportation industry
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and initiative

• Learning mindset, eager to absorb new information, apply it and improve on it
• Adaptability & time management, willing to be flexible and adjust priorities as the organizational needs change
• Class 5 driver’s license in good standing
Hours
Monday-Friday, 9 hours per day, alternating Fridays off
May 4, 2026-August 31, 2026
As this position is identified as safety and security sensitive, employment of a final candidate will be conditional upon completion of pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol, drivers abstract, and criminal background check assessments with satisfactory results. As this position requires the operation of commercial vehicles, the final candidate must medically qualify for the operation of commercial vehicles as part of the pre-employment assessment.
