Description

The Heartland Petrochemical Complex (HPC) is seeking an accomplished Director, Maintenance to lead the critical functions that keep our world-class petrochemical facility safe, reliable, and efficient. Reporting to the Vice President, Heartland Operations, this senior leadership role oversees Work Execution, Planning and Scheduling, Cost Management, Turnarounds, and Facilities Management.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

•    As a key member of the HPC Site Leadership Team, provide strategic leadership for all plant maintenance and turnaround activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
•    Enhance and manage maintenance systems to ensure regulatory compliance, drive continuous improvement, and support the execution of long-term strategic objectives.
•    Develop and communicate a clear strategic vision for Work Execution, Turnarounds, Cost Management, and Facilities, aligning initiatives with the company's overall business objectives.
•    Manage and drive continuous improvement in the work execution processes for HPC, including Maintenance, Turnaround and Projects.
•    Maintain accountability for cost efficiency, procurement compliance, and fiscal discipline that supports IPL’s long-term business performance.
•    Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages teamwork across all functions, with a focus on enhancing overall business performance.
•    Ensure all employees have clear, purpose-driven objectives, the right responsibilities, and authority to deliver against strategic goals.
•    Serve as a key member of the Heartland Petrochemicals Incident Management Team.
•    Represent Inter Pipeline professionally in dealings with contractors and regulatory agencies.
•    Manage the maintenance program for the HPC site based on best practices, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance for all assets and disciplines. 
•    Ensure asset integrity goals are established and achieved, with adherence to regulatory compliance requirements.
•    Drive continuous improvement mindset and practices across the maintenance organization to improve and sustain reliability of all operating assets. 
•    Champion safety and environmental performance across all maintenance and turnaround activities.

Education, Skills and Experience

•    Minimum 15 years of progressive experience leading complex industrial organizations, preferably with exposure to maintenance, operations, or turnaround functions.
•    Post-secondary education in a related field.
•    Demonstrated strength in problem-solving, critical thinking, and data-informed decision-making.
•    Must have a deep understanding of maintenance and turnaround management systems, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
•    Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
•    Strong alignment with Inter Pipeline’s values and commitments.
