Description

Located out of our Heartland PetroChemical Complex facility, the individual in the Supervisor, HPC SCM Materials Management role will report to the Manager, HPC Supply Chain Management. The Supervisor, Materials Management is a member of the HPC Supply Chain Management (SCM) team who ensures the security, logistics and accountability of inventory held in multiple manned, unmanned and third-party offsite warehouses for HPC operations.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the Warehouse team and Master Data members using clear communication, direction, support and follow up to ensure accurate and timely execution of all warehouse and inventory management operations
  • Responsible for the day-to-day leadership of staff, including recruitment, selection, orientation, mentoring and performance feedback
  • The role is responsible for organizing and monitoring the storage and distribution of materials
  • Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse transportation and customer service
  • Direct and oversee the full order cycles, to ensure business optimization, sustainability and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage the maintenance of a clean and environmentally safe work area.
  • Support PP Unit Operations warehouse to stage raw materials to produce finished product based on the Monthly Operating Plan.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements, including data integrity, training, policies, and procedures
  • Develop and maintain KPIs for measurement of productivity and adherence to policies
  • Assist in the preparation and adherence to budgeting for Materials Management
  • Work closely with Maintenance on repairs to ensure day to day material are available for maintenance of equipment
  • Work with Planning Group to ensure all materials are on ready & staged for 7/30/90 day schedules
  • Key focal to manage and communicate with VMI Suppliers to support day to day Operations and ramp up for Turnarounds
  • Work with Leaders to develop Materials Management Turnaround strategies and support required schedules
  • Collaborate and work with other HPC departments as necessary
  • Perform periodic reviews of exception reports to maintain data integrity in the Warehouse Management System, including but not limited to discrepancies between systems, unit price, aged open/failed/unmatched transactions, and inactive parts
  • Oversee the Team’s planned physical counts frequency: plan creation/posting of adjustments/root cause and reporting
  • Evaluate the feasibility of vendor-managed model implementation and manage the process in cooperation with the sourcing and procurement team.
  • Be a member of the Reliability/Asset Care Steering team to efficiently manage optimal inventory management 
  • Consider turnover, size, weight and related factors of inventory to manage the usage of space and configuration in the storeroom, Toolcrib and Warehouses
  • Develop reporting suite for direct reports
  • Ensure that goods purchased, comply with operational inventory philosophy
  • Management of offsite 3rd party warehouse and contractors 
  • Develop long-term Materials Management Strategy for HPC
     

Education, Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience or more of progressive responsibility in Supply Chain Management, in an Operations Warehouse role on major mining, process, or oil and gas (brownfields and greenfield) is preferred, including 5 or more years with leadership experience
  • Post- Secondary Education with a focus in Supply Chain or Warehouse Management with SCMA designation, or current enrollment preferred
  • Experience with SAP, Maximo, ToolHound and other inventory management systems
  • Experience with logistics and expediting
  • Proven experience leading a results-oriented team and success with people management and leadership
  • Detailed oriented with organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with clear communication (written and oral)
  • You will bring strong negotiation and influencing ability 
  • Have a positive, can-do attitude and approach to problem-solving
